University of Science and Technology - Aden participates in the activities of the fifth session of the Scientific Conference on Chemical Security and Emerging Threats for 2025 in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The University of Science and Technology – Main Center Aden is participating in the fifth session of the Scientific Conference on Chemical Security and Emerging Threats for 2025 in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which opened on Monday, May 5, 2025, and is being held by the Public Security Directorate of Jordan, in close cooperation and joint organization with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). Dr. Mukhtar Al-Abyad, a faculty member at the University of Science and Technology – Aden, is representing the University at this conference as a keynote speaker with a scientific paper on behalf of the university entitled: “Improving Chemical Security in Universities”. It is worth noting that Dr. Mukhtar Al-Abyad is a member of the World Congress on Chemical Security, in addition to his academic work at the university. The conference is being attended by the President of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, and a number of senior officers and security experts representing 102 countries and eight regional and international organizations. Major General Dr. Obaidullah Al-Maayta, Director of Public Security in Jordan, opened the conference with a speech in which he addressed chemical security as an urgent international priority, noting that this conference constitutes a strategic platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences, and building a solid network of cooperation and effective coordination to confront emerging security risks. In his speech during the opening of the conference, Major General Al-Raisi said that Interpol gives the issue of chemical security the highest priority in its security agenda, through specialized training programs in this field, as well as through activating partnership and exchanging information between more than 100 member countries of the organization, in order to confront this escalating threat that threatens the security and stability of the countries of the world. The conference is scheduled to continue for five days, including a rich program of panel discussions and working papers presented by a selection of the most prominent international experts in the field of chemical security. The conference sessions will discuss the most important related challenges and developments, and review ways to develop policies and preventive tools, and mechanisms for rapid response to the risks of chemical materials and the misuse of modern technologies, with the aim of coming up with final practical and applicable recommendations that contribute to strengthening chemical security at the regional and international levels. #University_of_Science_and_Technology
