University of Science and Technology – Aden holds a workshop to discuss and approve the description of the Bachelor of Health Administration program.

On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education at the University of Science and Technology – Main Center Aden, in cooperation with the Deanship of Development and Quality Assurance at the University, held a workshop to discuss and approve the specifications of the Bachelor of Health Administration program, in the presence of a number of academics, representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, representatives of the labor market, and a group of students and graduates. The workshop was attended by a number of prominent figures from academic and health institutions, including: Dr. Lotfi Khanbari, Director General of Private Higher Education Institutions, Dr. Jamal Khadabakhsh, Director of the University of Science and Technology Hospital, Dr. Salem Awtaq, Director of Taiba Hospital, Dr. Fadl Al-Issa’i, Administrative Director at Aden German Hospital, and Dr. Taha Al-Mahbashi, Consultant and Specialist in Health Management. Also present at the workshop from the University of Science and Technology were Dr. Muammar Al-Qutaibi, Assistant President of the University for Academic Affairs, a number of deans and heads of departments, and members of the program description committee. The workshop was opened with a welcoming speech by Professor Dr. Abdul Ghani Hamid Ahmed, Acting President of the University of Science and Technology, who stressed the importance of the university adopting quality academic programs that contribute to serving the community and achieving sustainable development, noting that the Bachelor of Health Administration program reflects the university’s commitment to developing higher education and keeping pace with future developments to meet the labor market requirements in the field of health administration. Dr. Nabil Mansour, Dean of E-Learning and Distance Education, also welcomed the attendees, stressing the importance of strengthening partnerships with health institutions and utilizing academic and field expertise in developing the program to ensure outstanding educational outcomes that meet the needs of the local and regional labor market. In his speech, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Rumaima, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance, indicated that this workshop represents a strategic step towards improving the quality of academic programs at the university, noting that the discussions and observations that the attendees will provide will greatly contribute to adopting a program that is characterized by high quality and takes into account academic and professional standards. During the workshop, the program's mission and objectives, learning outcomes, and the proposed curriculum prepared by the program description committee in accordance with regional and international references were reviewed and discussed by the workshop attendees. The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations that will be followed up to ensure their implementation on the ground, and to emphasize the importance of such workshops in promoting communication between academics and experts in the health sector, and consolidating the university’s leading role in developing higher education and serving the community. This workshop comes as part of the university’s commitment to the continuous improvement and development of its academic programs, in accordance with the requirements of quality and academic accreditation.
