Field visit by therapeutic nutrition students to the Social Development Fund

As part of enhancing the practical skills of students in the Therapeutic Nutrition and Dietetics program – Department of Health Sciences at the University of Science and Technology – Main Center Aden, a number of students from the program – Level Three – conducted a field visit to the Social Fund for Development, as part of the practical training requirements for the course “Nutrition Training in the Community”. The purpose of the visit was to learn about the role of the Social Development Fund, the nature of the Fund's work and its various programs, and the Fund's support for community and economic development. The students learned about the nutritional survey conducted by the fund, the mechanism for referring cases of children with acute malnutrition to hospitals and centers, and the method of continuous assessment and follow-up. The students also learned about the role the fund plays in promoting development awareness, and understood the importance of development projects in improving the nutritional status of children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers. The students were also briefed on the programs offered by the Fund to students and graduates, such as: training courses , professional qualification, support for small projects, and promoting community cooperation in research fields to encourage students to contribute to the development and volunteer activities supported by the Fund.
