The Marib branch of the University of Science and Technology is holding its first scientific day for dentistry.

The branch of the University of Science and Technology in Marib Governorate held the first scientific day for dentistry in the Saba region, with the participation of a select group of academics, specialists and students of the Faculty of Dentistry at the university, and it will continue for three days.
During the opening of the event, the Deputy Governor of Marib, Abdullah Al-Bakri, praised the holding of such scientific events and their role in developing academic education and improving the quality of its outputs in various medical fields, especially in the field of dentistry.
He pointed out the importance of keeping pace with rapid scientific and technological development and benefiting from the latest scientific research conducted by the world’s most prestigious universities and applying it in practice, which will reflect on the development of the health sector and bring about a qualitative shift in the field of dentistry and dental surgery.
For his part, the President of the University of Saba Region, Dr. Muhammad Al-Qudsi, stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the various governmental and private universities and health institutes and coordinating joint efforts to improve the outputs of higher education through holding such activities aimed at enriching the scientific and cognitive aspects in all fields, especially in the medical fields.
For their part, the Director of the University of Science and Technology branch in Marib, Dr. Ismail Al-Hafsi, and the Head of the Department of Dentistry, Dr. Khalil Al-Sabri, reviewed the stages of establishing the Department of Dentistry at the university branch in Marib since its establishment and receiving the first batch of its male and female students in the year 2022 AD.
They praised the strategic partnerships that the university has established with the University of Saba Region and with the leadership of the health sector in Marib Governorate, and its role in promoting the exchange of experiences, benefiting from academic staff, developing the academic environment, and contributing to the development of medical competencies to serve the community.
The event featured five scientific lectures and research papers presented by Dr. Samah Al-Amri, Dr. Nashwan Al-Afifi, Dr. Amin Al-Sabai, Dr. Baher Al-Tayyar, and Dr. Khalil Al-Sabri, which addressed the latest technological developments and the most recent technical applications in the field of dentistry and oral surgery, in addition to discussing the challenges facing doctors in this field and the proposed solutions to address them.
The first scientific day for dentistry in the Saba region is scheduled to include a scientific exhibition to showcase the most important modern medical tools, technologies and supplies used in the field of dentistry and dental surgery, at the university branch building next Saturday and Sunday.
